Apple's New "Lockdown Mode" Protects iPhone, iPad, and Mac Against Spyware

In order to protect high-risk customers from “extremely focused intrusions,” Apple on Wednesday revealed plans to add an additional security setting called Lockdown Mode to iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura.

The “extreme, optional protection” feature, which is currently previewable in beta versions of its forthcoming software, was created to address the rising threat posed by private companies creating state-sponsored surveillanceware like Pegasus, DevilsTongue, Predator, and Hermit. Read More…
