BlackCat/ALPHV Clones Victim’s Website to Post Stolen Data

The ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware organisation adopted a new kind of extortion that entails building a duplicate of the victim’s website and using it to post stolen data. On its data breach website, the ALPHV ransomware organisation named a financial services company as one of its victims.

A file-sharing service claims that the group took 3.5 GB of material and distributed it there. The initial extortion attempt, nevertheless, was unsuccessful. The attackers imitated the victim’s website and placed the stolen information on it to further pressure the victims.
