BotenaGo Malware Endangers Millions of Routers and IoT Devices


Cloudflare said that it had mitigated a distributed denialofservice (DDoS) attack with a peak of just under 2 terabytes per second (Tbps), the company’s greatest attack to date.

It begins by setting up global infection counters, which will be printed on the screen and tell the attacker of the overall number of successful infections. The malware then looks for the ‘dlrs’ folder, where shell script files can be loaded. BotenaGo will terminate the infecting process if this folder is absent.
