CISA panel pitches idea of a National Cybersecurity Alert System

According to a panel that advises the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the United States needs a national cybersecurity alert system that would offer actionable information on threats and dangers. The panel concluded that “there is a genuine need for a national cybersecurity alert system that routinizes the 24/7 consideration and provisioning of cyber alerts” without describing the appearance or behavior of such a system.



In March, a subcommittee of the Cybersecurity Advisory Committee (CSAC), headed by the former National Cyber Director Chris Inglis, was established to look at the possibility of a National Cybersecurity Alert System. During the third virtual meeting of the CSAC this year, the panel presented its conclusions on Wednesday.
