Drinik Android malware now targets users of 18 Indian banks

A new iteration of the Drinik Android trojan targets 18 Indian banks while disguising itself as the nation’s official tax management app in order to collect the victims’ personal data and login credentials.

Since 2016, Drinik has been making the rounds in India as an SMS thief, but in September 2021, it added banking trojan characteristics that target 27 financial institutions by sending victims to phishing URLs.
