Facebook and Microsoft remain prime targets for spoofing

Even though phishing trends change frequently, Facebook and Microsoft continue to dominate the list of most-spoof brands, according to Vade. Even though Facebook was clearly in the lead, Microsoft passed the social media juggernaut in Q2 as a result of a 22% QoQ rise in spoofing attempts.

In H1 2023, Facebook and Microsoft continued to hold the top two spots for most frequently impersonated brands, with the former accounting for 18% of all phishing URLs and the latter for 15%. Facebook and Microsoft jointly accounted for more unique phishing URLs than the next top five brands combined, highlighting how well-liked these businesses are among hackers.
