Fake ChatGPT desktop client steals Chrome login data

Researchers have discovered a data thief that can copy saved login information from the Google Chrome login data folder and masquerade as a ChatGPT Windows desktop client. Although ChatGPT has not yet made a desktop client available, this fake version is remarkably comparable to what one might anticipate.

A zip archive containing a file called ChatGPT For Windows Setup 1.0.0.exe contains the infostealer. Havelock, a programme that harvests and decrypts accounts, cookies, and history from Chromium-based web browsers, is used by the virus during installation to start extracting Chrome login information.
