Fired NY credit union employee nukes 21GB of data in revenge

After being fired from a New York credit union, a former employee admitted to gaining unauthorised access to the financial institution's computer systems and destroyed over 21 terabytes of data in retaliation.

Files relating to customers' mortgage loan applications, as well as the financial institution's antiransomware security software, were deleted. She also opened a number of secret Word documents, including folders containing the credit union's board minutes.
