FoxIt Patches Code Execution Flaws in PDF Tools

A critical-severity patch has been released by Foxit Software to address a risky remote code execution vulnerability in its flagship PDF Reader and PDF Editor products. The vulnerability may be exploited using manipulated PDF files of web sites, the business cautioned in a warning. It was found and disclosed by researchers at the Renmin University of China.

The vulnerability affects Foxit PDF Reader 12.0.2.12465 and earlier, as well as Foxit PhantomPDF - 10.1.7.37777 and older, according to Foxit, which provides an alternative to Adobe’s widely used PDF processing tools.
