Germany to mandate minimum security standards for web browsers in government

With a proposal for basic standards presently available for consultation, Germany is requiring the use of secure, contemporary web browsers across government networks.

In July, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) published a draught set of minimum requirements. The agency anticipates that the standards will improve data security and government cyber resilience.
