LastPass users furious after being locked out due to MFA resets


Users of the LastPass password manager have had serious login problems since the beginning of May after being invited to reset their authenticator apps. On May 9, the business first warned users that upcoming security upgrades might need them to enter back into their LastPass accounts and reset their preference for multifactor authentication.

Even after successfully resetting their MFA Applications, numerous users have experienced account lockouts and have been unable to access their LastPass vault since that time. The issue is made worse by the fact that impacted users are unable to contact support because doing so requires login into their accounts, which they are unable to do because they are stuck in an endless loop of being forced to reset their MFA authenticator.
