Microsoft Expands Cloud Security Posture Management to Google Cloud

Support for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) completes Microsoft’s recent addition of the cloud security posture management (CSPM) feature to Microsoft Defender for Cloud. Microsoft’s action seems long overdue to some in the sector. Microsoft said on Wednesday that starting on August 15, GCP will be a part of Defender CSPM, which uses agentless scanning and contextual attack path analysis of hybrid cloud systems, including AWS and Azure.



CSPM is a new addition to Microsoft Defender for Cloud, but it has become crucial to CNAPPs, or cloud-native application protection platforms. CSPM offers automatic monitoring to give near real-time visibility into hybrid and multicloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) environments to make sure their configurations match their businesses’ risk and compliance needs.
