Microsoft makes further cuts focused on consumer R&D group

Microsoft made significant layoffs this week after eliminating open positions across its Office and Windows businesses and letting rid of a section of its 180,000-person workforce in July.

One of the organisations in charge of the company’s customer-focused project R&D was the Modern Life Experiences (MLX) group, where the majority of the layoffs occurred.
