MongoDB Investigates Customer Account Data Breach

Customers of database provider MongoDB have been notified of a data breach wherein some account and contact details were exposed.


Lena Smart, the CISO of MongoDB, sent out an email to clients late last week, and the vx-underground account reposted it on X, formerly Twitter.


It stated, “MongoDB is looking into a security incident involving unauthorized access to certain corporate systems.” “This involves contact details and metadata from consumer accounts being exposed. We are not currently aware of any security breaches involving client data stored in MongoDB Atlas.


When the problem was discovered on December 13, according to Smart, the company promptly initiated its incident response procedures.
