Patch Now APTs Continue to Pummel WinRAR Bug


SolarWinds, as a comprehensive IT management platform, occupies a uniquely sensitive spot in corporate networks, as the world discovered three years ago. Its ability to monitor and influence crucial components of a business network is exemplified by its ARM tool, which administrators use to provision, manage, and audit user access rights to data, files, and systems.

Administrators should be aware that Trend Micro’s Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) uncovered a number of “High” and “Critical”-rated vulnerabilities in ARM on Thursday. According to Dustin Childs, ZDI’s head of threat awareness, “the most severe of these bugs would allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code at the system level.” They have the ability to entirely take over an infected system.
