PCI DSS 4.0 released, addresses emerging threats and technologies


Version 4.0 of the PCI Data Security Standard was produced by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) (PCI DSS). PCI DSS is a worldwide standard that establishes a foundation of technical and operational criteria for the protection of account data.

The present version of PCI DSS, 3.2.1, will stay operational for two years until it is decommissioned on March 31, 2024, to provide companies time to comprehend the changes in the new version and apply any necessary adjustments.
