Ransomware Group Takes Credit for LoanDepot, Prudential Financial Attacks

The BlackCat/Alphv ransomware group claims responsibility for cyberattacks on LoanDepot and Prudential Financial, threatening to sell or release data after both companies reportedly refused to pay a ransom. Despite a previous law enforcement operation targeting BlackCat and the seizure of its main leak website, the group has reemerged, setting up a new leak website, and the U.S. government has announced rewards for information on the group’s leaders and affiliates.
