What's in a NoName? Researchers see a lone-wolf DDoS group

Every morning at the same time, a Russian hacker collective known as NoName057(16) targets European financial institutions, governmental websites, or transportation services with distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. The organization took credit last week for taking down the websites of a number of banks and financial institutions in Poland and the Czech Republic, which it views as unfriendly to the Russian state due to its backing for Ukraine.

NoName057(16), like with other pro-Kremlin hacktivist groups like Killnet or the Cyber Army of Russia, organizes relatively easy and brief DDoS attacks with the assistance of a large number of volunteers. The intention is to obstruct normal living, even for a short while.But, according to researchers, this group does differ in a few ways.
