This month, the world’s largest web hosting firm, GoDaddy, grabbed headlines when it revealed that a multi-year security lapse had allowed hackers to access company source code, steal login information from clients and staff, and spread malware to client websites.

Naturally, media attention was drawn to GoDaddy’s admission that the same hacker gang was responsible for all three of its breaches over a period of two years.
