Are We Ready to Give Up on Security Awareness Training?

A portion of you have already begun planning your 2024 budget and assigning money to security-related departments in your companies. It is reasonable to assume that staff security awareness training also counts against expenses. Its usefulness is debatable, though, as some employees continue to act insecurely in the workplace. In addition, social engineering continues to rank among the most common assaults, with successful data breaches coming in second. Microsoft discovered that a common type of video-based instruction can, at most, cut down on phishing click activity by 3%. According to Microsoft, this figure has remained consistent over time, despite an annual rise in phishing assaults.
