Indian crypto exchange CoinDCX suffered a cyberattack on July 19, 2025, resulting in a $44 million loss from an internal liquidity provisioning account. User funds and wallets were not impacted, as they are stored separately in cold wallet infrastructure.
CoinDCX contained the breach swiftly, absorbed the loss via its treasury, and is conducting a full forensic investigation with cybersecurity firms. As a precaution, Web3 platform operations were temporarily suspended, though all Web3 funds remain secure. The company plans to launch a bug bounty program and improve security infrastructure to prevent future breaches.
