Fake Google Software Updates Spread New Ransomware

Malware is being smuggled onto target devices by threat actors via phoney Microsoft and Google software upgrades.

The most recent example is “HavanaCrypt,” a fresh ransomware programme that Trend Micro researchers recently found in the wild disguising as a Google Software Update application.
