Four Arrested in £440M Cyber Attack on Marks & Spencer, Co-op, and Harrods


Four individuals aged 17–20 were arrested in the U.K. for cyber attacks on major retailers Marks & Spencer, Co-op, and Harrods, linked to the Scattered Spider cybercrime group. These attacks, attributed to ransomware and social engineering tactics, caused financial damages between £270M–£440M. The suspects face charges under the Computer Misuse Act, blackmail, money laundering, and organized crime. Authorities believe Scattered Spider, part of the larger criminal network “The Com,” used voice phishing and impersonation to breach systems.
