Microsoft Azure customer hit by largest ever 3.47 Tbps DDoS attack

The DDoS attack lasted about 15 minutes and involved a botnet with over 10,000 compromised IoT (Internet of Things) devices from around the world. Iran, India, China, Russia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, and the United States were among the countries represented.

Although it is unknown who was responsible for the attack, Microsoft released a research titled “Azure DDoS Protection—2021 Q3 and Q4 DDoS attack trends” that looked into the incident further. The attack was mitigated, but the perpetrator used several tactics to amplify the DDoS attack, according to the business.
