A new version of Necro malware infected over 11 million Android devices through apps on Google Play, including Wuta Camera and Max Browser. The malware spread via the Coral SDK, which used obfuscation and image steganography to hide its activities. Once installed, it displayed invisible ads, downloaded files, and subscribed users to paid services without their knowledge. Cybersecurity expert Katie Teitler-Santullo stressed the need for developers to check SDKs for tampering and perform security scans to prevent such exploits.
