Nvidia is preparing to launch a new AI GPU based on its Blackwell architecture specifically for the Chinese market, with a price range of $6,500 to $8,000, significantly lower than the $10,000–$12,000 price of the previously restricted H20 model. The upcoming chip will reportedly use conventional memory and will not require TSMC’s advanced packaging technology, which may contribute to the lower cost. Mass production of the new GPU is expected to begin as early as June 2025, according to sources familiar with the matter. This move reflects Nvidia’s strategy to maintain its presence in China amid tightening U.S. export restrictions on high-end AI chips.
