Pwn2Own Toronto 2022, Day 1 Hackers Earn $400,000 for Galaxy S22, SOHO Exploits

Participants in the Pwn2Own Toronto 2022 hacking competition received a total of $400,000 for brand-new exploits that targeted smartphones, printers, routers, and NAS devices on the first day of the tournament. The Trend Micro Zero Day Initiative competition promises considerable rewards for breaking into wireless routers, mobile phones, printers, smart speakers, home automation hubs, and NAS systems.

The Devcore team, who had previously taken part in multiple Pwn2Own competitions, received the largest single payout on the first day. They made $100,000 by breaking into a Canon printer attached to a MikroTik router.
