QNAP Warns of New DeadBolt Ransomware Attacks Exploiting Photo Station Flaw


Following yet another wave of DeadBolt ransomware attacks using a zero-day vulnerability in the software, QNAP has released a fresh advisory asking users of its network-attached storage (NAS) devices to update to the most recent version of Photo Station.

The company advises customers to update NAS firmware, deactivate port forwarding on routers, block Internet access to NAS devices, use strong passwords for user accounts, and perform regular backups to prevent data loss while the specifics of the vulnerability are still unknown. Read More…
