Co-op is latest British retailer to be hit by cyber attack


The Co-op Group in the UK has confirmed a cyberattack that impacted its back office and call centre operations, though its retail stores and e-commerce platforms remain fully operational. This marks the second major cyber incident affecting a prominent UK retailer in recent weeks, following Marks & Spencer's (M&S) ongoing disruption, which led to a six-day pause in online clothing orders. Co-op, which operates over 2,300 food stores and offers additional services in funeral care, legal, and insurance, has not disclosed further technical details or the extent of the compromise but confirmed it is actively addressing the issue.
