Cloud-native security and networking provider Infoblox Inc. today unveiled its Universal DDI Product Suite, a new service that offers a comprehensive domain name system, dynamic host configuration protocol and IP address management, asset visibility and proactive security.
The Universal DDI Product Suite breaks down silos across NetOps, CloudOps and SecOps while offering the flexibility of adaptive deployment models, the company said. It does so through a set of automation-ready solutions to allow teams to manage DNS, DHCP and IP — collectively known as DDI — addresses centrally, faster and with less effort. The service is designed to assist organizations using two or more cloud service providers, where, with each new environment, critical network services management grows more complex and compounds the chances of human error. Infoblox argues that managing multiple siloed DNS environments increases operational costs and reduces agility. Meantime, fragmented IP address management across multiple public clouds and on-premises infrastructure creates IP conflicts, risking network and application outages. Lack of centralized visibility across hybrid clouds can also lead to higher costs from zombie or orphaned workloads, which can also pose security risks. The Infoblox Universal DDI Product Suite introduces three new offerings aimed at simplifying network services management. The first, Infoblox Universal DDI Management, provides a unified solution for managing DNS, DHCP and IP address allocation across hybrid and multicloud environments. The service automates DDI environments and centralizes DNS management for third-party services like Amazon Route 53 and Azure DNS, boosting efficiency and reliability while reducing the risk of network outages. The second new service, Infoblox Universal Asset Insights, delivers a comprehensive view of assets across hybrid and multicloud environments. It extends DNS and DHCP to IP address management to streamline the discovery, tracking and remediation of network assets. The service also obtains continuous updates to help organizations eliminate manual tracking, reduce operational costs and mitigate security risks from unused IP addresses and zombie workloads. Rounding out the new service is NIOS-X as a Service, which is designed to extend critical network services without requiring new infrastructure. The feature provides operational simplicity for CloudOps teams while also ensuring resilience and security for NetOps and SecOps. The solution allows information technology teams to modernize on-premises DNS, streamline multicloud DNS management and optimize branch operations with infrastructure-free DNS and DHCP services.
“Network architectures must be reimagined for hybrid, multicloud deployments to enable companies to move fast with confidence,” said Chief Executive Scott Harrell. “Our mission is to provide NetOps, SecOps and CloudOps teams with the robust tools they need to achieve unprecedented collaboration — significantly streamlining automation, accelerating application deployment and dramatically simplifying operations.”
